Image hosted by Photobucket.com KL School Band Competition

I met Siu Yan at Wangsa Maju LRT station. Together we took the LRT to Masjid Mamid (right spelling?) Jamek. *Proud* we found the right way to Dataran Merdeka (first time going there by ourselves + two also no sense of direction). Reach there about 7.30 pm; managed to watch a few school rehears. We were shocked to see so many Chong Hwa students at the scene, mostly dressed in red. With ‘Chong Hwa School Band Jia You’ banner and school badge flag up too. Competition only started at 8.40 pm because of the late arrival of the Mayor of KL.

VI was the clear winner of the night. They also bagged the award for ‘Best Uniform’. St John’s performance was much better compared with what they did on the 26th of March. Their Drum Major didn’t drop his maze too and eventually be the owner of the ‘Best Drum Major’ award. They came in second. CBN was third.

Chong Hwa, well, want can I say? Their performance was quite disappointing. They have the quality to at lease get 3rd but didn’t seem to let it out that night. Looking back at how good they performed on the 26th, they can *maybe even* give VI a run for their money. From what I can see, they were too nervous. Their tempo was getting faster and faster. Eventually, that will affect the whole formation, steps etc.

This year Chong Hwa went back empty hand. But I’m sure they will learn from they mistake and get stronger in future.

Conclusion made after the competition, I rather be a band member than be a supporters or on lookers. Why? Because if you were to be a band member, you don’t need to say ‘Excuse me’ if there’s anyone blocking your way; they will automatically make a path for you to cross. :PDPDPDPD
